What we do

Informatics Matters specialise in providing informatics software and consultancy to life science companies, particularly the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. We concentrate on drug discovery informatics, especially bioinformatics and cheminformatics, such as
  • Chemical registration
  • Biological and chemical data management
  • Data reporting and analysis
  • Combinatorial library design
  • Sample and plate management
  • Target identification and analysis

We have experience in working with tools from many of the standard vendors in the industry, such as MDL, ChemAxon, ID-BS, Daylight, Spotfire and Accelrys.

If you have current or upcoming  needs in these areas we can assist you in the following ways:

Managing the software acquisition and commissioning process

It is well known that IT projects often fail to meet expectations or are sometimes terminated part way through, providing a significant, but largely avoidable, hidden cost to life science organisations. This is often due to the complex nature of these projects and an inexperience in managing the process of commissioning software systems. Whether your project is large or small, requirements and expectations need to be managed, vendors need to be selected and engaged, specifications and acceptance criteria established and all aspects off the project have to come together for a successful conclusion. If you do not have the expertise or time to perform this role in house, then we can assist you throughout this process and minimise the risk of your project failing to deliver.

Custom software development

If off the shelf  software products do not provide the complete solution for your needs we can  manage the implementation of a  custom solution. This might  be just the "glue" between off the shelf systems, or could be a complete solution in  its own right. We can manage the process of developing these custom parts of your solution, and provide access to experienced software developers to implement the solution or work with and supplement your internal team.
