Our approachThe key to our approach is to understand your business and your needs. Only by doing this can we identify the critical areas where you will obtain the maximum return on your investment in informatics. Understanding your scientists work flows and requirements is critical to determining the key issues and identifying the best solution. We do not try to fit any particular solution to your needs. Many problems can be solved by off-the-shelf tools, and where
this is the case we help you to select these tools from the available
vendors, and can manage the commissioning process. We can use our
experience to facilitate the interaction between you and the software
vendors, engage the right parties, ask the right questions, and work
towards getting you the best solution. Where off-the-shelf tools cannot meet all your needs, for
instance, some "glue" is needed to tie systems together, or maybe part
of your system needs custom development, we can manage this process
through our implementation team, who have expertise in a wide range of
scientific areas and programming languages. Commissioning software systems is a complex process, with
delayed or terminated projects, failure to meet expectations and
exceeded budgets common place. Our approach addresses these risks head
on, maximizing the chances of your project succeeding. This involves
managing requirements, specifications, schedules, acceptance criteria
and vendors, an area where small life science organisations often have
limited experience. A beneficial side-effect is that it leaves you, the
scientist, to get on with the job you are best at! When combined with
the improved success rate you will see from effective management of the
process, we think you will find this process very cost effective. Designed by: Duncan Peacock. Version 1.1: June 2005 |
